A big benefit is how glass can be recycled over and over without the quality deteriorating. Also, a lot less energy is needed to melt recycled glass compared to new raw materials. Our goal is to eventually use only recycled glass in our range.

These were the set of three 180ml glass pots with plastic lids. The glass is supposed to be heat resistant and designed for using in a microwave. Looking at reviews this isn't a common issue, maybe I was unlucky to buy a defective batch1

I bought a couple of these and after giving them a wash, discovered that they did not sit flat on a flat surface and rocked from side to side. Visiting my local store (not where I bought them), I found that most suffered the same problem to varying degrees, a few were ok. I was unable to return them as I had removed the labels, and in any case, despite them clearly not sitting flat on the counter, that wasn't a fault. This was disappointing. That said, I would buy again, remembering that quality control is my responsibility.2
