Wish I'd read the other reviewsDavidLooks great in the photos but in reality everyone is right- it fits 6 jars max and not very well for normal sized spice jars. You rcan otate the jars 90 degree but then you don't really need the insert because it does nothing than elevate them a bit. 1

Tier Expandable Bamboo Spice Rack
Like concept, but needs a little improvementTrevor R.I purchased two of these to help separate soup and teaspoons, forks from salad forks and knives from steak knives. I have seen these designed elsewhere and I really like that it fits perfectly in the bamboo tray I also purchased from the Uppdatera collection. One thing to keep in mind is that any sharper flatware, such as steak knives are best placed in the top row to prevent poking yourself when retrieving other flatware. Things I'd love to see improved: 1. Increase the angle of each row just slightly. My flatware forks and spoons have contact with the handles in the above rows. 2. Deeper grooves for the flatware. The shallow grooves allow the flatware to slide over a bit too easily on the smooth plastic surface. 3. Adding a siliconized surface might resolve the above issue as well, to keep the flatware from jostling about when the drawers close. I love the space saving design, so I may spray it with the rubberizing spray from the hardware stores to address the above issue.2
Looks cool..... what is it?Glennthis goes in a drawer, and makes it look cool. I think it is carbon fiber, and maybe laser-proof. Did I say it looks cool sitting there in the bottom of the drawer? Well it does. It definitely maybe was made by aliens, and it also looks cool. I hope someday the aliens will make one for inside of my glove box, so it too can look cool.5
Udate this lacklustre product please!Antonella can do better than this cheaply made spice insert. Please improve this product so the drawers can be used in an efficient way to store spices. This version is a FAIL.1

PointlessSarahThey must be used inside a tray and they only fit two of the spice jars side by side - too small for three, too large for 2, leaving spaces and they wobble. I ended up removing this product and putting jars directly in the tray1

The idea with UPPDATERA is to make the interior organisers more flexible. The add-on tray in plastic is a good example. Place it next to a cutlery or utensil tray for a perfect fit and utilise the drawers in your existing kitchen better – no matter the size of them. “Not everyone has a kitchen from , but everyone can have functionality on the inside of their kitchen. Here is a little of the back story. After the rest of the kitchen remodel was complete, I wanted to find a useful way to use the dead space at the end of the counter.

Obviously, I could have just hung the spice racks on the end of the counter and called it a day. But if you know me at all, you know that was NOT happening.
BekvÄm Spice Rack, Aspen
This was also done to widen the sides so that the Bekvam racks fit perfectly inside and to hide the rounded edges of the 2×4’s.
Because I knew I was going to be wrapping the top and bottom in trim to match the custom bookshelf, I did not make the depth of the sides the exact depth of the spice rack.
Once my sides were built, I installed the Bekvam shelves and wrapped the top of the “columns” with 1×4’s cut on a miter. And added base molding to the bottom.
How To Add A Spice Rack To An Ikea Cabinet Door
Because my “columns” weren’t as wide as the previous version made for the bookcase, I used the lattice strips on the top of, instead of around, all four sides.
Since I was working alone, I used tape to hold the lattice in place while I used a nail gun to attach it.
And yes, of course, I could have just built the spice shelves, but why? The Ikea ones were solid wood, easy to put together and saved me a ton of time.

The spice rack has been finished for nearly a year and has proven to be incredibly convenient and an efficient use of space. I even shared photos of the spice rack in the 1 Kitchen Styled 3 Ways Posts.
The reason I didn’t share until now is because, in my mind, I envisioned the jars with custom labels for a clean consistent look. And look, the jars are sporting their new look.
