RÄNNILEN water trap is designed to fit inside a cabinet and still allow space for a full-sized drawer. It’s easy to remove for cleaning and just as easy to replace.
Water trapRobertthis is a 1 1/2 drain (kitchen size) bathroom sinks are 1 1/4. So this won't fit into the wall. What am I missing?1

This Saved My Bathroom RemodelMarshaExtremely grateful to have come across this water trap for a 14 depth vanity. It saved my contractor from having to cut into the drawers on a very hard to find european free standing vanity (and my sanity). It was easy to install and saved $$$$ after looking into siphon drains from Laufen. I recommend this space saving drain assembly for anyone dealing with a small bathroom remodel. All the negative reviews are due to customer error for not carefully reading all of the product info.5

Works greatDavidThis does work great. My critique is that I cannot switch out the drain for one that's push to open as the original equipment doubles as the method of securing the drain pipe to the sink basin.4
Nice but complexFrankthis is one of the most complex drains i installed. in the end it seems nice but is very complex and doesn't fit (our US drain pipe. and....we bought this separated for the project ....to find same in box with the sink we bought. one of the most complex projects i had as such.3
Does not work under my RÄTTVIKEN sink.SolveiThe original plumbing fixture that came with my RÄTTVIKEN sink was called RINNEN. I needed to replace some of the parts, and I thought the RÄNNILEN fixture would work. Unfortunately, the RÄNNILEN drain does not fit to my sink. discontinued the RINNEN plumbing fixture and the RÄNNILEN seemed promising, but it did not work.3
Drainage Issues In Kitchen Sink
Keeps cloggingDonataI have this set up for my 2 vanities for the last 7 years and I would never go for this plumbing design again. Sinks keep clogging every 3-4 months and it allows the smell in so that its awful! In other standard American vanity sinks I can unscrew and clean the hair clogs very easily. Not with the design. Disappointed!1
Do Note Buy Water Trap Unless Still Have the OverflowToddLike a previous reviewer, I ordered a Raennilen Water Trap online. The kit did not contain the parts for the overflow even though they are clearly referenced in the assembly diagram. Suggesting that I come into a story defies logic since I ordered it online for a reason. If the parts do not exist why are they referenced in the assembly diagram? Parts 10046279, 10044931 and 10044930. Let's see a human being reads this review or if there's an automatic suggestion to come into a store to return the product in 180 days ...1

Doesn't work with faucet strainerAngelaUpdate: I thought I could buy an faucet and use the strainer plug to just plug righ into the drain that comes with this assembly. Unfortunately, it does not appear to fit. This one has a hex key type shape in the middle. I have no idea now what type of strainer plug to put on this thing. Why would they make it incompatible with their own faucet strainers???3

Space saving ptrap for standard sinks as wellAngelaOur drain height was interfering with the shelf in our new vanity and this saved the day. Couple things to know. 1. You can install this on a standard sink drain with the overflow built into the sink. 2. Fits 1 1/2 stub into the wall although it did seem slightly loose (we used a different heavy duty ptrap piece). If you have 1 1/4 inside diameter from the wall you'll need adapters. 3. It comes with the drain ring in chrome but not the strainer you stick into it. You have to buy an chrome faucet with strainer to get the strainer, not sold separately (probably comes with sink too). There are other color faucets has but not all come with a strainer (matte black is missing from the line up). Hope this helps as I had to make a trip to the store to figure it all out.5
It worksMelissaI do like this design for sink plumbing. I just wish it was more flexible to adjust. My bathroom pipes were slightly off a couple inches and had to kind of slant it to make it work. I’m not a plumber and this is very easy to install.3

I’m soooo happy this works.JudiI’m soooo happy this works. One plumber looked at my bathroom sink from , & didn’t know how to handle it! Parts from other countries don’t always work, so I’m grateful you still have this one!!! Thank you !!!!5
New Ikea Kitchen Installation. Gurgling, Slow To Drain
Plastic is a key material for , and remains so going forward. It is strong, durable, lightweight and versatile. It is a main component in a large amount of our products and has a wide variety of applications from surface materials such as paint and foil, to screws and shelf pegs. There is a lot of valid concern regarding how plastic impacts the environment and at we take this very seriously. As part of our larger circular journey and transition from virgin fossil based material, we are working hard to change all plastic in our home furnishing products to plastic made from recycled and/or renewable raw materials.
Plastic is most commonly derived from oil and gas, which are non-renewable fossil sources. These sources do not renew themselves and will eventually be depleted. Our ambition is that by 2030, all plastic used in our products will be based on renewable or recycled materials. Renewable plastic is made from materials such as vegetable oil, corn, wheat grain and sugar cane. Recycled plastic allows us to give a second life to non-biodegradable products such as PET bottles that would otherwise end up in landfill. Using recyclable sources also lessens our dependency on oil as a raw material. Currently more than 40% of our plastic products are based on recycled and renewable materials and our aim is to reach 100%. As we add products made from recycled and renewable materials to our offer, we hope to inspire other companies to do the same.

Single-use plastic items pollute ecosystems if not disposed of responsibly. As part of our commitment to people and the planet, all single-use plastic products from the global home furnishing range were phased out in 2020. This includes items such as plates, cups, and plastic straws offered in our restaurants, bistros, and cafes. These were replaced by disposables made from 100% renewable sources.
Old Ikea Kitchen Sink Waste Washing Machinr
Polythylene terephthalate (PET) and Polypropylene (PP) are durable, hygienic and shatter-resistant plastics. They absorb very little water and have good chemical resistance. Both PET and PP can be reused and recycled, which reduces waste and gives the product several lives through use and reuse. PET is the most recycled plastic in the world and can be used for many different purposes such as plastic bottles and containers for packaging food and beverages as well as for personal care products, pharmaceuticals and many other consumer products. At we mainly use recycled PET in boxes, filling material for textiles and kitchen front foil. PET is approved by health-agencies as safe to use for food and beverage. uses recycled PET that is post-consumer based, which means it is based on collected and sorted PET bottles.
Takes product safety very seriously and all products are tested and comply with the strictest possible laws and safety standards on all markets. Customers should always feel confident that products bought at are safe and healthy to use. wants to minimize or totally refrain from the use of chemicals and substances that can be harmful to people and the environment.
Our journey towards only using recycled or renewable plastic will take some time and require new ways of doing things, but we are determined to take responsibility and find new solutions. We want to give our customers the possibility to choose products made from more sustainable materials that can be recycled again one day. Together, we can make a big difference!Love this systemVerified ReviewerAmateur plumbing is a merciless pastime, so I am unsurprised to see the poor reviews. Having struggled with various compression systems in the past, I found this system to be an absolute breeze. It's very cleverly designed, there is a brilliant ball socket for the overflow that makes connecting it so simple. Everything just clicks together and it works. I have had leaks in the past from top name brands, but this wastes system worked perfectly first time. No matter what people say, there's no such thing as a universal wastes system, but the design of this system is brilliant. It will give you the best chance of getting plumbed in good time. I highly recommend it.5
